There is no need to submit your certificate of completion when applying for your real estate license, we transmit a graduate list to the state of Michigan weekly so your name will be on the list as an approved graduate. We do suggest that you keep a copy for your records as proof of completion and we will always have an additional copy stored in your student portal for future reference.

Career Day & Night is a great opportunity to meet with the leadership team from a local real estate brokerage. This event is designed to be informative based and allows you to field all the questions you have about obtaining your Michigan real estate license and building your business.

If you haven’t decided on an employing broker by the time you apply for your salesperson license just leave that question blank. When you do find one you will need to submit this form before you can be approved for license.

After you complete your required education, it is time to apply for your real estate license. Visit the Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs website to start the online application process. This would be a great time to indicate who your employing broker will be on your application or wait until after you take the exam. Once you have indicated who your employing broker will be and upon successful completion of the state exam, LARA will mail your license package to your employing broker. If you don’t have an employing broker in mind, you will have up to 12 months to submit your designated employing broker information before LARA requires you to retake the state exam. Once you have an employing broker, they will need to verify your employment with LARA and your license package will be mailed to your employing broker's main office. Your application and fee are good for 12 months. If you have not successfully passed the state exam within 12 months you will need to apply again and pay a new fee. It can take up to 5 business days from the time of application for you to receive an authorization to test.  
The Michigan real estate licensing exam is made up of 115 questions. You’ll need a passing score of 70% to qualify for a Michigan real Estate license and when you pass you will receive your score report on site! Applicants for salesperson cannot apply or substitute any college level transcripts or degrees to meet the state’s pre-license requirement, you must complete the Michigan state-approved 40-hour pre-license course.
